Cruise to Morocco

"Optimist of London" sailed on a 4-day extended cruise, stopping at Marbella, Gibraltar, Ceuta and Benalmadena before returning back to our home port last Thursday 22nd September. Our guests onboard were Uta, John, Manfred & Marlene and a good time was had by all. We did manage to see plenty of dolphins when crossing the Straits of Gibraltar, and flew the cruising chute on the return passage in the light south westerlies.

Evening sunset cruises proving very popular

Those balmy summer evenings are now with us, and our guests are enjoying swimming under the stars and the full moon. This week we were delighted to have Victoria and her friends aboard to celebrate her birthday, as well as Wim returning with more of his guests from the ever-popular El Destino Bed & Breakfast. A great time had by all !

On Monday this week, we were delighted to welcome Lorraine & Ronnie and their respective families onboard for a pre-wedding celebration at sea. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we wish them every happiness for the future and Good Luck for the wedding in Maro tomorrow !

New addition to yacht's inventory

"Optimist of London" now has a new addition to her equipment ... a bright yellow one man KAYAK. Come and paddle your own canoe as well as sail, swim, snorkel, fish, and ride the banana boat ... great fun for all ages !

Dolphin watching

The summer season is in full swing now ... "Optimist of London" has been sailing every day this week, including Sven & his group of Dutch friends celebrating their 5th alumni reunion and Geraldine and her Belgian friends who came back to sail with us again.

And on both days, Tuesday & Wednesday we were lucky to see pods of dolphins from the yacht and at close quarters from the comfort of the yacht's rib ...Wonderful !

Summer is here !

Whilst most of northern Europe has been basking in record breaking Easter temperatures of 27C, we have had a slow start to the summer here in Spain ... but the clouds have now disappeared and we are out sailing again !

We are looking forward to a really busy summer and welcoming new guests and old onboard our luxury yacht.
